MISE-EN FESTIVAL 2024

June 18-22, 2024

We are thrilled to announce the 10th Anniversary MISE-EN FESTIVAL. We started this festival in 2014 and it has been quite a journey.

The year we begin with talks and performances addressing political contexts in contemporary classical music and we proceed with 5 days of music and discussion. Participants were drawn from over 1600 submissions to a call for pieces and presentations announced last fall.

All events are free and open to the public thanks to generous support from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York State Council on the Arts, Pro Helvetia (Swiss Arts Council), Brooklyn College (CUNY), and the Music Department at New York University.

Below is a brief introduction to our events. Please visit each event page for more details to learn about talks, performances, and people you will meet at the concerts.
