Our programs highlight emerging and underrepresented composers, musicians, and sound artists, while also offering high-quality performances of both new and historical works to our local community. Founded in 2014, MISE-EN_PLACE moved from Bushwick to Greenpoint, Brooklyn in December 2019. In 2025, we are excited to announce our relocation to Harlem, one of Manhattan’s most vibrant neighborhoods, and are currently in the process of renovating our new space.

Each season, MISE-EN_PLACE hosts multiple concert series and an international music festival. Our facilities also provide low-cost equipment rentals and rehearsal space, as well as public event space (for lectures, workshops, film screenings, and other community events).

Concert/Event Rentals
MISE-EN_PLACE is Available for Rent! Whether you’re planning a concert, rehearsal, recording session, workshop, or special event, MISE-EN_PLACE is available to the public. We offer transparent pricing with no hidden fees and some of the most competitive rental rates in Manhattan, along with amenities that make our venue an exceptional value. The space features two grand pianos, a house quadraphonic sound system, and a large collection of percussion instruments available at affordable rental rates, making it ideal for a wide range of musical and artistic events. Subsidized Rehearsal Space
With New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA)’s generous support, MISE-EN_PLACE is pleased to offer $10/hour subsidized rehearsal space to all eligible New York State artists and musicians. To book space at the $10/hour subsidized rate, please contact us directly with details of your project at rentals@mise-en.org.
