About the composers





Charles Norman Mason has received many awards for his compositions including the Rome Prize, MTNA’s Distinguished Composer Award, ACO’s “Playing it Unsafe” prize, the International Society of Bassists, Ernst Bacon Memorial Award, First Prize in Yoon Jin Kim Contemporary Music, Premi Internacional de Composició Musical Ciutat de Tarragona Orchestra Music prize, an NEA Individual Artist Award and Dale Warland Commission Prize. His collaborations with artists include video artist Sheri Wills & photographer Richard Barnes, have appeared in Yerba Buena (San Francisco), Howard House (Seattle), and the ISPIN Gallery (NY). His work, Murmurs was featured in the NYTimes magazine and the on-line magazine FLYP media. Residencies include American Academy in Rome, I-Park, VCCA, International Centre for Composers-Sweden, Visiones Sonoras, Hambidge Center, University of Alaska, “Escape To Create” in Seaside, FL. Mason is professor of composition at Frost School of Music of the University of Miami.

João Quinteiro completed a degree in Composition at the University of Aveiro, where he studied with João Pedro Oliveira, Isabel Soveral and Evgueni Zouldikine. He completed, simultaneously, a Master’s in Philosophy, specialising in Aesthetics, at FCSH – Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a Master’s in Composition at the University of Aveiro. He studied with the composers Emmanuel Nunes, and Beat Furrer.
Massimo Vito Avantaggiato-Music and art, for him, are gateways to revealing and sharing the inner spiritual essence of all things. His work explores the perception of sound and its interaction with other media, delving into the behavior of fundamental sound entities. Deeply inspired by the elegance of physics, his creative endeavors seamlessly fuse science and art. He currently teaches Acoustics, Electroacoustic Composition, and the History of Electroacoustic Music at prestigious Italian conservatories.
He has composed music for films, short films, video installations, and ballets, earning acclaim through numerous composition competitions.
Alexey Logunov is a composer and pianist with a primary focus on contemporary and experimental music. His music explores textural density, timbral complexity, and fusion of acoustic and electronic sound worlds. He is inspired by a broad range of styles, from the emotional depth of late romanticism to dynamic energy of progressive rock and heavy metal. His compositions have been consistently performed by internationally recognized ensembles at numerous festivals such as reMusik.org, Sound Ways, Performing Media Festival, SEAMUS@40, Red Note New Music Festival and Bang on a Can: LOUD Weekend.
Acclaimed by the New York Times as a “creative percussionist,” Josh Perry is a passionate advocate for contemporary music and interdisciplinary performance mediums. Recently, Perry has been a featured soloist at the Kroumata Percussion Center in Stockholm, Sweden, the Transplanted Roots Symposium in Guanajuato, Mexico, and Audio Training Manual Festival in Seoul, South Korea, and the Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Festival appearances include the Donaueschingen Music Festival, MATA festival, New Voices-New Music at Carnegie Hall, June in Buffalo festival, and the Bang on a Can Marathon.
